She Said

Real words from real women.

The body may be where it begins. But listen to what happens when a woman changes the relationship she has with herself.

"I didn't realize how much energy I was spending fighting myself until I wasn't anymore."
Lucinda at the beach, radiant and at peace
"Now I actually love myself. Everything became easier. Working out feels easier. Nutrition feels easier. Life feels easier, because I'm no longer at war with myself every single day."

— Lucinda

Cathi

"After menopause I felt hopeless. No matter what I did, I couldn't lose a pound."

Cathi had struggled with her weight for most of her life. By the time she came to this work, she was usually eating only one meal a day and felt as though nothing she did could change her body.

Then she began learning what her body actually needed.

"After working with Divine I learned food was my friend."

She began nourishing herself with protein, carbohydrates, and fiber and incorporating strength training a few times a week. Her body responded.

"I gained strength in my muscles and had more energy than I have had in a long time."

But something else happened along the way. A woman who had spent years caring for everyone else began choosing herself, too.

"Taking a leap of faith on myself was the best thing I have done in a long time. I always do for everyone else and put myself on the back burner."
"I now feel better about myself and I feel stronger as a 64 year old woman."

— Cathi

Margaret, transformed from the inside out

Margaret

"I thought I had my shit together, and I didn't."

When Margaret came to me, she was eating one meal a day and had quietly made peace with the idea that her body wasn't going to change.

Then it began to.

Her bloodwork came back so phenomenal that her doctor asked if she was taking statins.

Her body changed enough that on a recent vacation, her friends began seeking out treadmills, moving more, and quietly pulling her aside to ask:

"What did you do?"

But the transformation wasn't only happening in her body.

Margaret began noticing how much energy she had been spending on things that were never hers to carry: other people's feelings, other people's problems, worrying about circumstances entirely outside of her control.

In her words:

"Things that were not for me to worry about. They were not my problem."

And that realization led her to a question she hadn't thought to ask before:

"Wait, who's caring about how I feel?"

Her body changed.

But so did what she was willing to carry.

Gina

"Lighter. Both - Physically, mentally."

Gina's transformation isn't only something she could see in her body. It was changing the way she thought, moved, chose, and related to herself.

"It's a very different way to go about thinking and doing things."

She was making progress without the relentless mental checklist that had once accompanied it.

"It is somehow making that progress without feeling like, you know, I check, check, check."

And underneath it all was something quieter:

"I do feel calmer. And more peaceful."

Even the way she looked at her body began to change. A body-critical pattern that had once been part of her daily experience became noticeable precisely because:

"This used to be something I was doing daily. Now it hasn't come up in a while."

As her trust in herself and her body deepened, Gina returned to the Devotion Oath she'd encountered at the beginning of her work.

This time, she read it as a different woman.

"This has so much more meaning now than it did when I first started."
"I'm reading some of it and I'm like, 'Oh my God, check.'"

The woman she had once been reading about was becoming a woman she recognized as herself.

Mary at the beach at golden hour

Mary

"I feel like a Queen. I feel like a Goddess."

There was a time when Mary could feel her mind wanting to leave her body.

"I can feel where my head wants to leave my body."

Today, she can recognize the moment it's happening.

"I can see and I can feel where my head starts to wander and go in every single different direction."

And instead of following it, she can return to herself.

"This is where I am right now, and it feels really, really good to be in this presence."

Something else has emerged with that presence.

"I feel very, very connected to my feminine energy for the first time."

And Mary recognizes that the change isn't simply because of what's happening around her.

It's because of what's changed within her.

"I feel like it's because of the way that I've just been treating myself a lot better, and listening to myself."

And that relationship with herself hasn't stayed contained to one part of her life.

"That has just completely transcended into other areas of my life."

She can feel the difference.

"I'm in a really, really good place right now in my life."
"I can see a lot of things taking off that weren't necessarily there, like, not even a month ago."

And perhaps Mary's simplest description says it best:

"I just feel like a million, million bucks."

Elizabeth Buffy on the beach in a floral dress

Elizabeth "Buffy"

"That version of me was always there—quiet, hidden, waiting. Now, she is no longer obscured. I see her clearly, and others do too."

When Buffy first came across my work, she knew she needed something to change. She just didn't know yet what that change would look like.

Her initial motivation was her body and how she felt within it.

But choosing to begin asked something deeper of her.

"That conversation also became a turning point for me. It was the moment I had to truly look inward and ask myself how much I was willing to invest in me."

Her answer changed far more than her body.

"Choosing to work with Divine is one of the best decisions I've ever made."

Through the work, Buffy began meeting a version of herself that she says had been there all along.

"Through our work together, I've begun to uncover who I truly am."

She describes herself now as more confident, more grateful, more positive, continually open to growth, and experiencing a freedom that extends beyond herself into the way she relates to others.

And in three words:

"I feel empowered."

A friend once told Buffy:

"My greatest piece of art is myself. I love her."

Buffy says that sentiment resonates deeply now because it reflects the way she has learned to see herself through this process.

And while part of her wishes she'd found this work sooner, she sees that differently now, too.

"Today, I trust that I am right where I'm meant to be."
"And I can confidently say that I have flourished because I know Divine."

Her body was only the beginning.

Devotion is the standard. 🌹

— Elizabeth "Buffy"

"Discipline got me here. Devotion took me the rest of the way."
